Canada's most inspiring storiesEvery runner's journey is powerful. But some stories are particularly moving, inspiring, stirring and rousing. And iRun wants to honour Canada's most inspiring running stories. That's why we're introducing the iRun Awards. In the December 2008 issue of iRun, we'll present the iRun Awards, recognizing the most inspiring stories from iRunNation. But we need your help to find them. You probably know a potential nominee. Maybe it's someone who has overcome great odds to complete a 5k. Or a friend who recovered from an illness and qualified for the Boston Marathon. Maybe it's someone who raised a pile of money for a local charity. Or dedicated a run to a friend or loved one. It could be a determined individual who races despite a physical disability. We also want to hear about runners who have posted significantly improved finishing times. If you or someone you know has run a PB that's significantly better than a past race, send us the details of how much they've improved. We'll recognize the most improved times in the same issue of iRun. And we want to see the best running photos of the past year. If you have a running photo that's funny, creative or inspiring, send it our way. The best photos will receive iRun Awards and get published in the December issue. Send your nominees to webeditor@greatriver.ca by August 15, 2008, covering any story from the previous 12 months. |
