What do Running &Sex have in common?

By David Grant

  • First things first: you need to find somebody to check your gear
  • As a general rule, stay loose and limber
  • Be sure to start out slow to ensure endurance
  • Follow directions
  • No refund on entry fees
  • Remember what your coach says: get those knees high!
  • It's always better in a group than by yourself
  • Relay handoffs can be awkward
  • Don't forget to switch up the tempo here and there
  • You can keep a journal of where you've been
  • Be sure to brag about your exploits on Monday morning
  • Some folks like music, others like the sound of their own panting
  • Once you start to make a name for yourself, expect frequent blood tests
  • It's quite embarrassing when your kids catch you
  • Indoors with a machine is okay, but outdoors is better
  • Some of the old dudes have a tough time keeping upright and smiling
  • Men tend to finish sooner
  • Finish with a smile for the cameras
  • When you walk funny the next day, like-minded strangers nod and smile knowingly
